Hi, I’m Maren!

Horses have been in my life since I was born - literally. The first horse I sat on was my aunt’s Thoroughbred/Trakehner mare named Annie. I was only a few months old when I first sat on Annie and from there I was able to grow up with her. My current horse Ziggy reminds me so much of Annie. They have the same stripe on their face and are obsessed with food - they even have the exact same body type. Life really is full circle, isn’t it?!

Currently Ziggy is living the semi-retired life and still enjoys clocking around a course once in a while. He’s the definition of “living his best life” and enjoys getting to do whatever he wants!

This business is for my father…

And thanks to him, I’ve been in the photography industry for over 15 years.

I owe everything I’ve accomplished and learned in this industry to my father. He originally taught me how to use one of his film cameras when I was young. I remember bringing it to the barn with me and practicing. My grandparents gifted me my first DSLR when I was 14 for Christmas and ever since then I guess you could say I was kind of hooked. In February of 2017, my father was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer and one of the things that helped him through his treatments is talking about photography and showing him my photos. During my photography career my father acted as more than a teacher. You’d often see him as my second shooter at horse shows or weddings, uploading the photos and working in the office, being my investor and always encouraging me to invest in new gear, workshops, and computers. And most of all, he’d be the greeting committee anywhere we went.

On November 19th, 2021 my father’s battle with cancer came to an end on his birthday. Dad has always been a “full circle, glass is always full” type of guy so it was only fitting that he passed on his birthday.
